Scott Adams As Bible Interpreter

See the Sunday, Oct.28 Dilbert .  "Stress is just another word for knowledge," third panel.

Reminds me of Ecclesiastes 1:18 (King James Version): "For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow."

Work Harder!

In yesterday's column, Bob Herbert discussed the lack of progress of black young men. He recognized that discrimination is part of the cause. His conclusion was that the black young men should work harder to overcome obstacles.

Reminds me of the advice Jewish mothers would give to their young sons: "Work twice as hard and expect to accomplish half as much." It was good advice. As employers began to realize that Jewish employees were exceptionally good contributors because of their work ethic, discrimination began to fade.

Critics of Hillary Are Not Thinking Clearly

This is becoming tiresome.

People who criticize Hillary's balancing act close their eyes to the actuality of the Republican sliming machine. For the last seven years, Republicans following the example of Karl Rove, have attacked all opponents rather than discuss issues.

Remember the Swift-boating of Kerry? The sliming of Graeme Frost?

There is no question that Giuliani is preparing to paint Hillary as "soft on terrorism" because Giuliani has no other justification for his candidacy. Hillary has to protect herself against the certainty that Giuliani will run against her on that issue.

What do the critics want? To see Hillary shot down and Rudy Giuliani in the White House? Would that make them happy?

News Flash: David Brooks Prefers Hillary to Republicans

Read it all the way to the end. The last line is a winner.
