The exact same thing can be said of support for Obama. It is a personality cult, like worship of Mohammed or of Jesus Christ. Oprah stated her views very well: "I have seen my truth," in speaking of her support for Obama. Another way of putting is: "Don't bother me with the facts. My mind is made up."

To sum up, Obama benefits from three forces: Hillary-hate, religious passion and Black racism.
